Two months ago we witnessed Jack Skellington’s return to the scene, where he swept the Singles competition all the way to the finals, winning the entire tournament.
Last month we said goodbye to long-time veteran Jay, as he and KYAG dominated the Double tournament, securing one last first place victory for his team Welcome to the TerrorDome.
Now, we find ourselves at the end of Summer Smash. This Saturday, teams of four will compete in Save•Point’s first ever Super Smash Bros. Brawl Crew Battle. For those who haven’t entered or seen a crew battle, the rules are simple. Two crews face off, with each crew sending in one of their members to start the match. When the match ends, the player that one stays, and the losing crew must select a new member to face the winner. When the next match starts, the winner from the previous match must fight with however many stock he had leftover from before. This goes back and forth until one crew is left standing.
Crew Battles have been some of our most intense matches in the past, and with how things have panned out over Summer Smash, there’s no telling who will come out on top this time. Don’t miss it. The doors open at 10:00 a.m. and Save•Point is in the Lower Level in the Humphrey Multimedia Room. Sign-Ups end at 10:30.
Our annual tournament, Summer Smash, is back!
Or Dattebayo! if you want to be technical.
After a long wait, Save•Point’s Grand Tournament season is here. We’re continuing the success we saw last season with Halo 3, where teams of four will battle it out for spots in our Grand Finals tournament on May 22nd. Like last season, the tournament’s first round will be Team Slayer, with the following rounds alternating between Capture the Flag and Team Slayer. The Finals will be a best of three that contains both Team Slayer and Capture the Flag. Unlike last season, for the first time ever, the tournament will be all ages.
The beat is back this Saturday, with the return of our annual BeatMix event at Save•Point. Every year, our gaming program (Save•Point, as you probably guessed) takes a break from the ongoing tournaments to kick back and rock out. We’re doing it again with games such as Rock Band 2, Beatles: Rock Band, Guitar Hero 3, and Dance Dance Revolution and whatever else shows up. All ages are welcome. BeatMix comes but once a year, so don’t miss your chance to be a part of the fun. The Save•Point doors open at 10:00 a.m.
the Grand Tournament series! Season 8 will feature teams of 4 battling it out across the various maps of Halo 3 in an attempt to see who will take home the first ever Halo GT Championship title.
